Upon attending university, Fyeston M. Bockary was driven by a conviction and a clear goal: to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to achieve his aspirations. He earned a diploma in accounting, a Bachelor of Business in Accounting, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, specializing in Project Management. He also completed training for a Certificate in Diplomatic Protocols. These academic credentials have been invaluable throughout his career.

Fyeston began his professional journey with the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) in Sierra Leone. As a researcher, he worked closely with government and human rights agencies to promote women’s participation in leadership and decision-making. His role required meticulous research and skilled managerial capabilities.

He then moved to Limkokwing University of Creative Technology in Malaysia, where he served as a Senior Executive. He was responsible for performing quarterly appraisals of over 3,000 students in collaboration with external auditors, acting as a subject-matter expert. Later, he was promoted to Director of Campus Administration/Government Liaison at the Sierra Leone campus, where he liaised with the government and other institutions to identify training needs and implement programs for students.

Fyeston’s career took a significant turn when he assumed the role of Governance Coordinator in the Office of the Presidential Infrastructure Delivery Unit (PIDU) at State House. In this role, he ensured compliance among government and investors, analyzed and reported on office operations, and consolidated the institution into a single entity, resulting in substantial infrastructural success.

Reflecting on his experience in governance infrastructure, Fyeston’s passion for this field has only grown. He believes in the critical role of infrastructure in boosting national morale and providing benefits such as financial gains, development, and access to affordable housing. He advocates for the modernization and digitalization of government services to better serve citizens.

Currently, as Governance Coordinator, Fyeston contributes to the development of the institution’s vision, mission, goals, and strategies. He collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, including local governments, ministries, state agencies, and developers, to align strategic infrastructure priorities with land use outcomes and resolve infrastructure challenges.
